Mental Health Awareness Week at TasteTech

This week (Monday 15th – Sunday 21st May 2023) is Mental Health Awareness Week, and this year’s focus is anxiety. Here at TasteTech, we are marking the occasion with a range of activities for our team. We’ll be supplying adult colouring sheets in our Kafe so colleagues can get creative over lunch. We’re also helping our team to practice gratitude by sharing a daily prompt, and asking our colleagues to share their responses if they feel comfortable.

Wellness Lunch

As an ingredients manufacturer, we know the impact of a good diet for the body and mind. So we hosted a Wellness Lunch for the whole team, providing a delicious spread of healthier (but still delicious!) options for our colleagues to enjoy.

Thursday is the Mental Health Foundation’s official Wear It Green Day, so we’ve asked our colleagues to take part. We’ll be sharing the best looks to our Instagram account (@tastetech.ltd), so make sure you follow us to see who is best dressed!

We’re proud to announce that Tessa, Head of People and Performance, and Claire, HR Manager, have completed their Mental Health First Aid training with St John Ambulance. They are now able to spot signs of common workplace issues and can guide a person towards the right support.

“Here at TasteTech, we really value the mental health of our employees. We’re a family business and that sentiment extends to the whole team. Mental Health Awareness Week is a great opportunity to highlight the fact that everyone struggles with their mental health, and that help and support are available.” Tessa Murphy, Head of People and Performance.

To help support our community, we’re donating £500 to Changes Bristol, which will be doubled to £1000 thanks to Big Give’s Kind²Mind match funding campaign. Changes Bristol are a fantastic charity offering free peer support groups around Bristol. Their groups are inclusive, confidential and don’t require a referral or diagnosis to attend.
